A Yodelling Song

Karin Kreuzer, from a little village way up in the mountains of Switzerland, entertained us with a traditional Swiss yodelling song and she also emailed me a photo of her in traditional dress.

Yodelling is a form of singing that involves singing an extended note which rapidly and repeatedly changes in pitch from the vocal or chest register or voice to the head register. This making a high - low - high - low sound.

This form of singing is difficult and you need a lot of training and practice.

I have been singing in a Yodel choir (Jodelclub Alpenroesli from Sierre, Switzerland), since 2006. For me, it is not only a hobby, it is a passion and with a very good friendship!
